Spare parts under control: catalog, per-ticket usage, stock watch
Maintenance stops when a part is missing. MaintenanceDesk keeps a spare parts catalog wired directly into maintenance tickets — so you see not only what is in stock, but what actually gets consumed, where and at what cost.
A catalog with order
Every part has a name, a part number, a category, a unit and a stock level. Full-text search and category filters — a technician finds the part faster than in the rack.
Usage is recorded where it happens — on the ticket
While resolving a maintenance ticket, the technician records the parts used and their quantity. The system:
- deducts the stock,
- books the cost to the ticket and the device,
- extends the history — each part shows which devices consume it.
Parts costs then appear in maintenance reports next to external provider costs — the total maintenance bill is complete.
Stock watches itself
Set a minimum stock per part — when the level drops below it, the part shows up in low-stock alerts. You order before a missing part stops a repair.
Why it matters
- No more "I thought we still had one" — stock levels are live, deductions are done by the system
- True device costs — parts are booked to the device, not into an anonymous pile
- Purchasing by consumption — history shows what really gets used and what lies dead
